Steph Mourant

Steph’s passion is dancing, which began for her at the age of three. She loved it so much that she auditioned for dance school when she was a teenager and, through rigorous audition rounds, was awarded a scholarship to train professionally in the UK. 

“I just knew that is what I wanted to do, even though I was only 13. It was amazing. It was so intense, but the best thing I’ve done. To be around people who wanted the same thing as me was incredible.”

Once qualified, Steph embarked on a journey around the world, dancing on cruise ships.

“It was unbelievable. My first cruise job was on the Queen Mary II in 2011, followed by nine contracts on different ships up until 2020, when it felt like it was the right time for a change. My passion is fitness, and I love teaching and taking classes. I’m really excited to bring a dance element into the Funktion studio!”

Steph is a good listener and an encourager. Her goal is for clients to enjoy themselves and feel better after her sessions, tailoring them to each individual’s needs. She also works with people to improve their flexibility which assists with injury prevention. If you are just embarking on a fitness journey, Steph is a personal trainer who can help you find a form of exercise that you will enjoy.

Favourite food: Avocados and salmon. I eat half an avo a day with poached eggs!

Favourite tune to work out to: Feel good classics. I love a bit of Whitney and Kylie.

Girl crush: Nicole Scherzinger

Favourite motivational catchphrase: “You are nearly there, keep going – you’ve got this.” And… “no pain, no gain.”
